Bob has lived in the area all his life (not yet! Yea, Hermitage H.S.!). He began his career in the early 60’s in Printing sales. With “sweat equity”, Bob eventually owned and managed a printing organization for over 30 years, providing marketing materials to customers such as A.H. Robins & Reynolds. He sold the business in the late 90’s and retired to Ashland (on the tracks). He & his wife Brenda have 3 grown children, and 5 grandchildren. While on a missions trip with their church in the early 2000’s they adopted twins from Nicaragua.   Bob retains an active realtor license acquired during a brief career with his youngest daughter, and still brokers printing to his former company’s new owners. With Absolute Stone Design, Bob believes the combination of talent and skill that the team brings to the table offers a different approach to granite & marble fabrication & installation in the area.  He's proud of their fresh, honest, and sincere approach to providing satisfied customers with the best.

Val began his career in stone in Brazil. He left the country on a soccer visa, playing in Southern Europe - Spain, France and Italy. By the time he moved to Boston, Massachusetts, Val spoke five languages. He met his wife, Rose, and married. They have three children. With more than 400 stone fabricators in Boston, Val fled to Richmond, Virginia, where there were only 40. With less competition, Val enjoys being able to create the best possible product for his customers. He continues to play soccer socially.
